Fundación Canal is pleased to introduce Leger. La búsqueda de un nuevo orden (Leger. Search for a New Order), an exhibition that showcases Fernand Léger’s artistic evolution toward the creation of a new individual and vitalist language, expressing the reality of the new world order and modernity in the first half of the 20th century. A language he used to give free rein to his revolutionary interpretation of reality through geometric figures and his original conception of colour detached from shape.
The exhibition is structured around three series: Du cubisme, Les Illuminations, and Cirque and is enhanced with a screening of Ballet mécanique, an experimental film directed by Léger in 1924. Through these series, the tour focuses on Léger’s search for a new language, a new visual order to match the new times.
Leger. La búsqueda de un nuevo orden (Leger. Search for a New Order), may be visited free of cost until 5 September 2021. This is a one-of-a-kind opportunity to delve into the unique, unmistakeable artistic language of one of the early 20th century’s most relevant artists.
What is more, the collection is complemented by interesting face-to-face and digital activities to take a more in-depth look at the content: a virtual 3D tour to enjoy the exhibition no matter where you are, guided tours, and family workshops to continue learning both in-person and virtually.
