DESCRIPTION

With the exhibition Léger. La búsqueda de un nuevo orden (Léger. In Search of a New Order), Fundación Canal is pleased to introduce the first public screening in Spain of a complete documentary that delves into Léger’s work and reveals the key artistic concepts in his career. The film visits his main works, many of them from the museum devoted to the artist in Biot, in the French Provence, the main custodian of Léger’s output.

Diana Gay, Chief Curator of the Fernand Léger Museum of Biot, is the hostess who gives us a tour of the French artist’s career through the works exhibited at the museum: from his first steps into Neo-Impressionism to development of a personal artistic language in both cubism (known as tubism because of the round shapes), and in his later figurative work.

The documentary displays Léger’s unmistakeable style, and also explains it through his biography, all while sharing some of his most emblematic pictures, murals, sculptures and ceramics.
