Presentation of a methodological guide to estimate minimum contributions to reservoirs within the context of climate change

PROFESSIONAL ENVIRONMENTAL WORKSHOP

For World Water Day, Fundación Canal will be presenting a recent study (2022) that sets forth a complete and updated methodology to analyse the effects of climate change on minimum contributions to reservoirs, based on existing free-use data in Spain. As a complement to this, the Fundación will present an innovative application that is also free-use to apply the analysis described in the guide in a streamlined, precise fashion.

Both tools will allow professionals in the water sector to solidly assess the risks of climate change in strategic management processes for available water resources in reservoirs.

This study was drawn up by the Instituto de Hidráulica Ambiental (Institute of Environmental Hydraulics) at the University of Cantabria (IHCantabria) for Fundación Canal, in collaboration with Canal de Isabel II for development.

Format: in-person.

This event will be recorded for later broadcasting, which means that images of the audience will be incidentally recorded.
