Enrique Dans has been a Professor of Innovation at IE Business School since 1990. After obtaining a degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Santiago de Compostela, he pursued an MBA at the Instituto de Empresa, earned a Ph.D. in Information Systems at UCLA between 1996 and 2000, and completed postdoctoral studies at Harvard Business School. In his role as a researcher, educator, and advisor, he studies the effects of technological innovation on individuals, businesses, and society as a whole. In addition to his teaching activities and his role as a Senior Advisor in Innovation and Digital Transformation at IE Business School, he is a visiting professor at the Diplomatic School in Spain and the University of Oxford in the United Kingdom. He also provides advisory services to various startups and established companies and is a regular contributor to numerous national and international media outlets on topics related to the internet and technology. Included in the Forbes list of top influencers in 2019, 2020, 2021, and 2022, he has been writing daily since 2003 on his personal website, enriquedans.com, which is one of the most popular blogs in the world on innovation in the Spanish language.
He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Audiovisual Communication from the University of Salamanca, earned in 2001. From 2016 to 2018, he served as the director and presenter of “Los desayunos de TVE.” He has also held various roles within TVE, including being the subdirector of news, director of the Canal 24 horas, director of the news website www.rtve.es, and director of the social media team for TVE’s news programs. Currently, he is responsible for “Zoom Net,” a technology and digital culture program on TVE.
