DESCRIPTION

A musical journey for families. An invitation to rediscover the songs, beats, and dances that defined an entire age, all live. The Age of Maricastaña is a narrated concert with a jazz orchestra, narrator, and projections. It brings back to life a repertoire that owned the stage a century ago and that still sounds surprisingly modern today.

Intended to be enjoyed all together (adults, kids, and youth), this show is a participatory experience where the audience sings the chorus, follows the beats, improvs, and flows with some of the great standards of jazz and popular 20th-century music. A fun, educational initiative that connects memory, learning, and emotion through live music.

With a script by Fernando Palacios, the concert is performed by Whatever Jazz Band, a septet specialised in traditional jazz inspired by the Golden Age of the genre, from New Orleans and Chicago to New York. Their repertoire respects the style, arrangements, and instrumentation of historical recordings, bringing families emblematic sounds like The Charleston, Amapola, and Bourbon Street Parade.

With an approximate duration of 55 minutes and recommended for those 5 years and older, this family concert offers a dynamic, educational, and accessible musical experience that combines music, narration, and image to discover the beats that made history in a fun way.
