With Rutas del Agua Multimedia, get close to the region’s natural wealth, with a special focus on the integrated water cycle. Technology acts as your guide, offering you real-time information on the nature, flora and fauna, river ecosystems, and the historic legacy of water in the Community of Madrid.
In this initial phase, Rutas del Agua provides you with a free app with two routes around El Pontón de la Oliva, an emblematic enclave for its historical, architectural, and natural value.
The first route is linear. It is 3.5 km long one way, has a 120 metre change in elevation, and lasts approximately two hours. The second route is circular and is 8 km long, has 360 metre change in elevation, and takes around 3 1/2 hours to complete. Both routes go along both the dam and the shore of El Pontón de la Oliva.
Throughout the route, with the aid of the Rutas del Agua Multimedia map, you will discover local biodiversity and water’s footprint on the transformation and development of the capital city and the entire region, thanks to Canal de Isabel II’s work.
