José Miguel Viñas, meteorologist and scientific communicator, delves into a reality with which humanity has always lived side-by-side: extreme weather events have occurred throughout history and have influenced life, culture, and how societies have interacted with their environment.
With a clear and accessible approach, José Miguel Viñas provides key insights to better understand these processes: what weather tells us and how the human factor is making them more intense and frequent, and to show how important prevention is and to boost our capacity for adaptation to one of the greatest environmental challenges of our time.
The event provides an interpretation of extreme weather events from a contemporary, constructive perspective, to better understand how drought, flooding, fires, and intense storms are all part of a climate scenario under transformation.
