To celebrate World Environment Day, and following the recent approval of the new Directive on treatment of urban wastewater and amendment of the Public Water Domain Regulations, Fundación Canal has organised the professional event Day for Innovation 2025. This year, it is focused on detecting and eliminating persistent pollutants in wastewater, like microplastics, a decisive step toward a more sustainable, innovative water management that is aligned with Europe’s environmental objectives.
Tecnologías innovadoras sobre tratamiento cuaternario de aguas residuales y monitorización de desbordamientos (Innovative technologies on quaternary wastewater treatment and monitoring of overflow), drawn up in collaboration with Canal de Isabel II, analyses innovative technological solutions to tackle emerging pollutants that escape conventional purification processes. It also sets forth innovative technologies to move forward in compliance with new European regulations on urban wastewater.
